Kenwood Track and Field Starts Off With a Bang

Up-and-coming season with results of the first meet of the season

On Saturday the Kenwood High School boys and girls track teams went to Milford Mill High School in what many would call a caravan.

However, that didn't stop the Bluebirds from surprising many at this year's County Relays.

Returners and new additions helped the Bluebirds get noticed after a month's hiatus from any meets. The boys' team finished 16th in the county and the girls' team finished 4th overall.

Highlights included: Boys 4x100 team (Keith Moody, A'donta Wallace, James Gallman, Jaleel Feggins) 46.64 5th place; Boys Shuttle Hurdles (Austin Paugh, Collin McKinzie, James Gallman, Phillip Brown) 5th place; Girls 4x100 team (Alyn Sankar, Brianna Best, Shaneara Terry, Diamond Hunter) 52.85 3rd place; Girls Sprint Medley (Jada Boyd, Diamond Hunter, Lexus Satterfield, Rachel Bauer) School record 4:52.79 5th place; Girls 8x200 Relay (Alyn Sankar, Octavia Sanders-Hike, Ariel Brown, Dashawna West, Lexus Satterfield, Brianna Best, Diamond Hunter, Shaneara Terry) 3rd place; Girls High Jump (Whitney Chukwurah, Jaeda Maith, Shaneara Terry) County Champions; Girls Pole Vault (Tiffany Kight, Shaneara Terry, Karlina Bernadzikowski) 2nd place (and beat Hereford Girls!); Long Jump (Alyn Sankar, Lexus Satterfield, Brianna Best) 2nd place.
