Kenwood's Track Team Competes in State Championships

On Friday and Saturday of this past weekend, the Kenwood boys' and girls' track teams participated in the 4A State Meet held at Morgan State.  While this wasn't the Bluebirds best performances, getting to the state championships is more than an experience.  Even though the Kenwood season may be over, Karlina Bernadzikowski and Brianna Best are participating in the Junior Olympics in three weeks.  Both Bernadzikowski and Best are Sophomores.

Highlights included:

100 Meter Dash-Alyn Sankar 16th place 13.45

Girls 4x100 Meter relay (Shaneara Terry, Brianna Best, Monique Brittingham, Alyn Sankar) 15th place 51.78

Triple Jump-Alyn Sankar 11th place 34-02.00

Girls Long Jump-Alyn Sankar 13th place 15-11.00 and Brianna Best 12th place 16-00.00

Girls Pole Vault-Karlina Bernadzikowski 9th place and Shaneara Terry 7th place 8-06.00

Boys Pole Vault-Andrew Powis 11th place

Boys Long Jump- Lorenzo Thompson 13th place 18-06.50
