Looking for open mic nights, live music, or fun things to do in Essex MD? Join us every Monday from 6-9 pm for our Open Mic & Community Jam at Kestrel Cafe.

Whether you sing, play an instrument, or just want to relax and enjoy the vibe, this is a welcoming, low-pressure space to connect through music. Come solo, bring friends, or just stop in and see what unfolds.

We start the evening with a few open mic spots at 6 pm, giving performers a chance to share a song, poem, or piece. After that, we shift into a relaxed community jam where musicians can play together, experiment, and build something in the moment.

All skill levels are welcome. You don’t need to be a professional, and you don’t need to have it all figured out. This is about showing up, trying something new, and being part of a creative, supportive environment.

Acoustic and low-volume instruments work best for the space. Singers, guitarists, percussionists, fiddlers, mandolin players, and more are all welcome.

Not ready to perform? That’s okay. Many people come just to listen, sip tea, and enjoy a night of live music in a cozy, creative setting.
