House Fire Victims Rescued by First Responders, Good Samaritan in Essex: Officials
Three people were saved from a burning house in Essex, Baltimore County public safety officials said; the cause has not yet been determined.

ESSEX, MD — Three people were rescued from a house fire in Essex Tuesday night, through the efforts of Baltimore County police officers, fire department personnel and a good Samaritan.
Before midnight, first responders received a report of a fire and found flames coming from a home in the 600 block of South Marlyn Avenue, officials said.
Two Baltimore County police officers who were first at the scene joined a good Samaritan in rescuing a 39-year-old woman and 43-year-old man from the basement, according to public safety officials. The man and woman were reportedly uninjured.

The fire department arrived and rescued a 39-year-old woman from a room on the first floor. Officials said she was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for burn injuries and smoke inhalation. Her condition was not known.
The two police officers involved in the basement rescues also experienced smoke inhalation and were taken to Bayview, where authorities reported they were treated and released.

The fire is still under investigation, though Baltimore County public safety officials say they have found no evidence of criminal activity.
