It has been quite a week for Kenwood Senior, Rachel Bauer. Rachel came into is final week of meets hoping to break one school distance record but ended up breaking three. She started off on January 11th breaking the 1600 meter school record with a new time of 5:48.05. Rachel came in second place. This time bested the previous record by 7 seconds.
On Wednesday, January 15th, Rachel ran the 3200 meter run and broke that record with a time of 13:14.1. This bested the record by 2.5 seconds. Rachel came in 4th veral in the race.
Finally, Rachel ran on Saturday, January 18th in the 800 meter run. Rachel stalked her opponents and won in the last few steps of the race. Her time of 2:34.39 bested the previous 30 year old record by 2.11 seconds.
Rachel ell looks to continue this success this week at county championships and regionals in two weeks. She has committed to run at Morgan State next fall.
