Maryland Delegate Cited for Allegedly Driving While Impaired
Delegate Rick Impallaria, who represents parts of Baltimore and Harford counties, was cited for drinking and driving, court records show.

OCEAN CITY, MD — While attending a conference for local lawmakers, a Maryland delegate was arrested for allegedly drinking and driving.
Delegate Rick Impallaria of Punte Lane in Essex, was cited for driving a 2000 Ford while impaired by alcohol, court records show.
The Republican who represents parts of Baltimore and Harford counties was pulled over after 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, in the 100 block of 82nd Street in Ocean City.

Impallaria, the deputy minority whip, was reportedly in town attending the Maryland Association of Counties summer conference, which brings together lawmakers to communicate about issues at the state level.
A police officer arrested Impallaria, who had been parked illegally, after noticing alleged alcohol on his breath and an open container in his vehicle, The Baltimore Sun reported. At the station, he blew a .07 into the Breathalyzer. The legal limit for drinking and driving in Maryland is .08.

The delegate had attended a Republican caucus event before getting pulled over, WBAL reported.
Impallaria is set to appear in Worcester County District Court on Oct. 6 regarding the citation.
