Meyers Receives Arc Baltimore Award
Essex resident Melissa Meyers has been awarded the Excellence in Direct Support Award by The Arc Baltimore.

Essex resident Melissa Meyers has been awarded the Excellence in Direct Support Award by The Arc Baltimore. The award, named in memory of Louise Dasch, honors an Arc direct support staff member who most exemplifies the dedication and commitment of Louise Dasch.
For the past 15 years, Meyers has consistently gone the extra mile for the people she supports – helping with not only their day-to-day needs, but the extras that make life more fun. The three men she supports now are always on the go, whether it’s going to Connections events, the circus, or trips to Atlantic City. She is currently helping one of the gentlemen plan a cross-country train trip through the Midwest, where they will end up at a dude ranch.
There’s no question that Meyers has always been an advocate for the people she works with, but recently she stepped out as an advocate in a whole new way. She went to Annapolis and testified before a state budget committee. While she was more than a little anxious, she put her fears aside . Her dedication to The Arc Baltimore and those she supports is unparalleled.
