Missing Middle River Man Died In Train Crash Near Bowie: Police

Police said a man reported missing this week in Baltimore County was killed in a crash with an Amtrak train near Bowie State University.

BOWIE, MD — A Middle River man was killed by a train in Bowie, according to police. Officials had issued a lookout for the man, who was reported missing earlier this week.

Christopher Daniel Booker, 30, of the 100 block of Kingston Park Lane in Middle River, was last seen on Monday, March 25, police reported Tuesday morning.

"He may want to harm himself," the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement.

On Wednesday, authorities in Baltimore County said that Booker had been killed on Monday night. Officers said they learned from Amtrak police on Wednesday that the person who died in a train crash was Booker.

He was hit by an Amtrak Acela near the Bowie State University MARC station in the 13900 block of Jericho Park Road around 10:20 p.m., police reported.

The man had been on the train tracks when he was hit by a southbound train, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.
