For Pointing Gun at Peer, Kenwood Student Charged as Adult: Police
A teen allegedly grabbed a gun from his backpack and pointed it at a fellow Kenwood High School student, police said.

ESSEX, MD — A junior at Kenwood High School is facing five criminal charges after he allegedly pulled out a gun when a peer confronted him after they got off the school bus last week, police said.
Shane Kaleipaihala Pule Jr., 16, of the unit block of Dogwood Road in Middle River, is charged with first and second-degree assault, having a handgun on his person, possessing a firearm as a minor and having a handgun on school property, according to court records. Pule is being charged as an adult.
Police said the charges stemmed from a disagreement with a sophomore, who approached Pule after the two got off the school bus on Elm Drive at Wilson Point Road.

It was approximately 3:46 p.m. on Sept. 23 when the sophomore confronted Pule about a previous incident, and Pule pulled a .45 caliber handgun from his backpack and pointed it at the younger student, according to police.
Authorities said they recovered the weapon. Pule was charged and released on $100,000 bail. He has a preliminary hearing on Oct. 21 in Baltimore County District Court.

Police described the incident as "very serious" and "very disturbing" to WBAL, which reported that Baltimore County Public Schools officials are investigating the matter. Suspension is reportedly mandatory for having a weapon on school property.
