River Watch Gets Good Review

The Essex restaurant captured the attention of The Baltimore Sun recently.

Does the thought of crab, fried green tomatoes and mustard sauce make you hungry?

Good, because River Watch in Essex has more where that dish came from.

True to its name, the restaurant features seaside delicacies like cream of crab and seasoned steamed shrimp on the menu. But it also puts its own spin on Maryland's celebrated crustacean, with offerings like a crab tortilla or a crabcake-ham-bacon-cheddar sandwich called "The Crisfield."

The one gripe The Sun had was what it called "noticeably slow" pacing of the meal: "...everything from drinks to the food took a long time to arrive at the table."

The newspaper gave the restaurant 2.5 stars. On Essex-Middle River Patch, River Watch has 4 stars.
