Teen Driver Confesses in Essex Hit and Run: Police
Police said the driver came forward after South Marlyn Avenue crash that left 5-year-old boy in critical condition.

ESSEX, MD – A teen turned himself in to authorities Monday as the driver in the hit-and-run crash Saturday night that left a 5-year-old pedestrian in critical condition, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
Charges against the teenage driver are pending, according to police, who said the suspect vehicle—a 2010 DMC Yukon Denali—has been located.
The crash happened before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday next to Deep Creek Middle School, where a 5-year-old boy was hit while crossing the street in the 1000 block of South Marlyn Avenue, police said.

Authorities said the suspect vehicle, a gold Yukon Denali, left the scene, while the victim was flown to Johns Hopkins Hospital by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter.
Maxwell "DJ" Marcus, of the 3500 block of Kenwood Avenue, remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday, police said.
