Two Shot at Bowleys Quarters Leasing Office: Police

The suspect, who is in custody, was a former tenant who was evicted, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

UPDATE—A 64-year-old man is in custody in connection with a shooting that injured two people at a leasing office near Bowleys Quarters Monday morning, according to a report from the Baltimore County Police Department.

Witnesses told authorities that that the suspect is a former tenant at the Carroll Park Apartments, in the 200 block of Carroll Island Road, where shots rang out after 10 a.m. Monday, police reported.

The man was evicted from the apartment complex months ago and has been engaged in an ongoing dispute with employees in the leasing office, according to the report, which stated the Aug. 3 shootings were believed to be targeted.

At 10:18 a.m. on Monday, police responded to the leasing office at the Carroll Park Apartments, where a man went into the leasing office and opened fire at a woman using a long gun, then shot a man who was coming up a staircase from the lower level, according to the report.

After shooting the 47-year-old woman and 39-year-old man, the man left the leasing office, put the long gun on the hood of a van he had driven there and waited until detectives, in the area on an unrelated investigation, approached him, the report said.

The 64-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident, police reported.

The woman was flown to shock trauma with critical injuries, while the male victim was treated by first responders at the scene and released, according to police.

Charges are pending against the suspect, police reported Monday night.
