Art Shop in Havre de Grace Raising Awareness of Homeless Animals

The Art Rooms Professional Art Supplies in Havre de Grace is looking for artists of all ages to create a masterpiece for homeless animals.

Enter The Art Rooms 8th Annual Benefit for The Humane Society of Harford County...”The Town Goes to the Dogs & Cats” and your art helps homeless animals!

CREATE
January 15—April 11
Purchase a wooden dog or cat figurine OR paint a favorite animal on canvas. Figurines cost just $21.58 and $2.50 of every sale (plus a matching donation of $2.50 by The Art Rooms) is donated to the Humane Society of Harford County. So that’s a donation of $5 per sale! Get your manikin from The Art Rooms at 116 N. Washington Street in Havre de Grace. Then decorate, paint and/or pose your figurine. Get creative!

The entry fee to “Paint a Favorite Animal” is $10, and you’ll receive a 9x12 canvas board. Create a fabulous painting (any media is accepted) of a wonderful animal. All entries MUST be framed and ready to hang.

SUBMIT
April 11th by 5 pm
All entries (figurines & paintings) must be delivered to The Art Rooms Professional Art Supplies no later than Saturday, April 11th by 5:00 PM. Judging of all entries will take place at The Art Rooms during the week of April 13th. Entries of figurines & paintings will be judged separately in Adult, Youth and Children Categories. Judges are from Harford Community College’s Art Department. Winners will receive wonderful prizes! Entries from previous years are not permitted.

April 19th 1-3pm
Attend “The Town Goes to the Dogs & Cats” Reception at The Art Rooms Professional Art Supplies on Sunday, April 19th from 1—3pm to see if you’ve won (everyone’s a winner for helping the animals!). Refreshments, raffles, a silent auction and a performance by “Woodwinds for a Cause,” music studio students of Beth Baker.
