Happy St. PAW-trick's Day!

On Sat., March 14th from 10am – 4pm, all the animals at The Humane Society of Harford County will be waiting to make a lucky match with you!

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya! The animals at the Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) are hoping the “Luck O’ the Irish” will shine upon them on Saturday, March 14th from 10am – 4pm. That’s when the staff and volunteers at HSHC will host a St. PAWtrick’s Day celebration and you can help lead the animals to that glorious pot of gold at the end of the rainbow – a forever home. The celebration is happening at 2208 Connolly Road in Fallston.

We’ll have your Irish eyes smilin’ all day with an array of free chocolate gold coins and apple lollipops, Irish music, green bead necklaces, and more. It’s sure to be a lucky day, and if you find a 4-legged Irish lad or lassie to adopt, spin the Wheel of Furr-tune to win a prize. Everyone’s a winner!

Some of the animals are as small as leprechauns, some dream of fields of green, but all have hearts of gold. The animals’ photos and biographies can be viewed and the adoption application process can be started ahead of time by visiting http://www.harfordshelter.org. As part of the adoption process, families should be prepared to bring their resident dog(s) for a “meet and greet” if they are considering adopting another dog.

The adoption fee includes a rabies vaccination (if the animal is at least 4 months old), the first set of distemper shots, de-wormer, flea & tick preventative, feline leukemia and feline AIDS testing, a microchip for identification purposes, and a general health exam. There is an additional $50 deposit for a HASP (Harford Animal Sterilization Program) certificate so the animal can be spayed or neutered. That fee is refunded upon completion of the procedure within 60 days.
