Joppa Grease Fire Caused $25K in Damage: Fire Marshal
The blaze spread to the cabinets, the fire marshal reported.

A grease fire caused approximately $25,000 in damage to a Joppa home on Wednesday, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
A resident of the home in the 3400 block of Clayton Road reported the blaze at 2:50 p.m., the fire marshal said.
While the resident was cooking on the stovetop, the grease fire spread to nearby cabinets, according to the fire marshal’s report.

Approximately 30 firefighters—from Joppa-Magnolia, Abingdon, Fallston and Bel Air—responded, bringing the fire under control within 20 minutes, the report said.
There was approximately $20,000 in damage to the two-story, wood-framed home, and $5,000 worth of items inside were lost as well, according to the report.

The fire was ruled accidental, the fire marshal said.
