Today's riddle: What do you call a one-legged Big Foot? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Stolen vehicle discovered in flames near Federalsburg (somdnews.com) — An early-morning passerby found a stolen vehicle burned out on a dirt road near the Hickory Hill and Guard roads intersection just outside Federalsburg, and investigators say the fire was intentionally set. The car, taken from Baltimore County, caused an estimated $50,000 loss, and state fire marshals are asking anyone with information to contact their Upper Eastern Regional Office.
• Indian Head Could Lose State Aid Over Missing Audit Reports (thebaynet.com) — Federalsburg is one of nine Maryland local governments warned it could lose 20% of certain state funds if overdue financial audits aren't filed by October 31, 2026. While the report centers on Indian Head, it flags Federalsburg's noncompliance as part of a broader statewide accountability push that could eventually affect local highway and grant money.
