3 Injured In Head-On Collision Between Garbage Truck, Car: MoCo Fire

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Three people were injured Wednesday when a garbage truck and a car collided head-on in Montgomery County, according to authorities.

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer said the collision happened on Route 28 at Sugarland Road. According to authorities, one person was trapped following the crash and first responders had to extricate them from the vehicle.

According to Piringer, three people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries following the crash.

A utility pole was also damaged in the collision, authorities said.

The crash temporarily blocked some lanes while authorities responded, Piringer said.
