4-Month-Old Baby's Death Investigated At Gaithersburg Motel
Montgomery County Police and the medical examiner are investigating what caused a four-month-old girl to die at a Gaithersburg motel.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A four-month-old girl's death at a motel in Gaithersburg is being investigated by Montgomery County Police. The girl, identified as Brooklyn Ruth Irby, was with family members at a motel when an emergency call was made.
Police say the report of an infant not breathing was made about 10:30 a.m. from the parking lot of a Motel 6 at 497 Quince Orchard Road. First responders took the child to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the infant was with family members in a vehicle in the parking lot at that address before the call. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore has ordered an autopsy to be completed. Detectives have labeled this death as undetermined until the medical examiner releases findings.
