57 Residents Graduate From Police's Hispanic Community Academy

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Fifty-seven residents graduated this month from the Montgomery County Police Department's Hispanic Community Academy — a 12-week, Spanish-speaking program designed to build community-police trust and teach participants about law enforcement.

According to authorities, participants get to meet the Chief of Police, learn about a number of issues in the community, and participate in use of force simulations.

Classes are held every Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Training Academy (8751 Snouffer School Rd., Gaithersburg).
