A Dog's Eye View of MCHS's Paws in the Park

Featured Foster Dog Bo here. I'm here to tell you about the great time I had at Montgomery County Humane Society's Paws in the Park event. I got to meet so many wonderful people. And I got to enjoy the great smells of Gaithersburg.

I had never been to Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm in Gaithersburg, but let me tell you, it is such a fun place!  I got specially invited to Paws in the Park because I'm a MCHS Foster Dog but seems lots of other people got invited too.  There was excitement in the air.

The first two dogs I met were little dachshunds.  They were so low to the ground I had to lay down to meet them.  Then I got to meet a husky who was more my height.  All day long I got to meet and sniff so many nice dogs.

The humans were really nice too.  I quickly made two friends who were boxer lovers.  They said if they didn't live in an apartment they'd want to adopt me.  I poured on the charm but they were firm in their decision.  They knew a big dog like me needs room to run and get exercise.

I'm a great walking partner and I didn't want to miss the 1-mile dog walk.  I followed the other dogs to the starting line and we're off!  There were lots of fun activities along the way.  At the agility course, my favorite was  "over".

Near the end a volunteer asked me if I wanted to take the short cut.  No way!  I'm going all the way!  At the finish line line there was excitement and bacon scented bubbles!

I soon found my favorite activity...bobbing for hotdogs.  At first I wasn't sure about sticking my head in a swimming pool but once I watched another dog do it I figured it out.  I had everyone laughing with  how I blew bubbles underwater.

One of the highlights of the day was hearing my name, Bo! and getting reunited with many of the volunteers and staff that helped take care of me while I was in the shelter.

I loved being surrounded by dog lovers all day.  I didn't get any applications but if you know anyone who'd love to make a wonderful dog like me part of the family they can check the MCHS Foster Dog page.  Paws in the Park is a big fundraiser to help homeless dogs like me.  Well, I do have a really nice foster home but I'm ultimately looking for my forever home.

I highly recommend Paws in the Park! Thanks to everyone who cheered me on.
