To commemorate the 250th anniversary of Montgomery County, Montgomery History is presenting a special exhibition titled “MoCo at 250: Then and Now” and warmly invites local artists to submit their work for consideration. The Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) is also actively supporting this initiative by helping promote the exhibition and encouraging artists within the community to participate, contributing to a shared effort to honor the county’s evolving history and cultural legacy.
This exhibition encourages artists to draw inspiration from Montgomery County’s 250-year history and cultural landscape, creating works that reflect the connection between the past and the present, while also exploring future possibilities. The organizers hope to showcase pieces that highlight the region’s natural environment, including its wildlife, landscapes, and community life. At the same time, they welcome reflective and narrative-based works that explore the theme of “where we come from and where we are going.”
Artists are also encouraged to make use of resources provided by Montgomery History, including its library collections, archival materials, and oral history database, as sources of inspiration. Through their work, participants are invited to engage in a cultural dialogue spanning 250 years, collectively documenting and interpreting the past and future of Montgomery County.
The exhibition will be held in the newly renovated gallery space at the Montgomery History Center and is scheduled to open on September 6, 2026, which also marks the 250th anniversary of Montgomery County.
Submission Deadline: Sunday, August 2, 2026, 11:59 PM (ET)
