Blow-Dry Bar Blo to Open Salon in Gaithersburg

They’re the hottest style trend around: blowout-only salons where you drop in for a wash and blow-dry. And one of the leaders in the market, Blo, is setting up shop in Gaithersburg.

For $40 you pick the style of ‘do you want – the salon doesn’t offer a cut or color – and you’re red carpet or boardroom ready.

Blo, the blow-dry bar with salons from Manhattan to Moscow, will open locations this year in Dupont Circle and Gaithersburg, reports the Washingtonian. The Gaithersburg location at 317 Ellington Blvd. will be the first in the state.

Blo offers a menu of styles for a flat fee of $40, with deep-conditioning treatments and extensions for an additional fee. Men can drop in too for a wash, dry, and 20-minute head massage for $21, says the company website.

Exact opening dates have not yet been determined. The Washingtonian says to expect the Dupont salon’s doors to open within the next three months; Gaithersburg will follow later in the year.
