British Swim School Opens In Gaithersburg

The British Swim School will hold a grand opening for its new Gaithersburg location Monday, October 23.

GAITHERSBURG, MD - From the British Swim School: British Swim School, the pioneer of non-traditional infant/toddler water safety programs, has announced today that it will be diving into Gaithersburg with the opening of its 12th Montgomery County location. In partnership with Marriott, the organization has taken over the former hotel pool with its own entrance off of the popular boardwalk at Washingtonian Center [204 Boardwalk Place Gaithersburg, MD]. Run by the British Swim School Central Maryland franchise, the school will hold an official grand opening Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11 a.m.

British Swim School Central Maryland is the largest U.S. franchise of the company teaching well over 1,600
swim lessons a month to students ages three months to adult in Montgomery & Frederick Counties. Centered
on a two-step principle of teaching water safety and survival first, and swimming skill development second,
the organization operates a year-round program with innovative teaching methods. Straying from the
traditional “set courses” model, students are placed in classes based on skill level with specific objectives, an
approach not found in session driven programs.

“It was a natural progression to open another school in Montgomery County with the ongoing growth in this
region,” stated Bonnie Alcid, CEO. “Other area programs generally focus on session-based lessons versus our
year-round approach that blends not only a water survival focus but also best swim practices. We’re delighted
to expand our concept and confident it will make a positive impact on our Montgomery County neighbors.”
