Car Drives Into Gaithersburg Townhouse, 1 Injured

A car plowed through the front wall of a Gaithersburg townhouse Tuesday night; one person was hurt, officials say.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A Gaithersburg family will not spend Thanksgiving at home after a car crashed into their townhouse Tuesday night, and one person was injured, authorities say.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesman Pete Piringer said on Twitter that the crash happened about 11:15 p.m. at 19315 Keymar Way. A car plowed through the front wall of the middle-of-the-row townhouse.

A technical rescue team was called to the site to shore up the building and remove the car.

The car's driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
