'A Christmas Carol' Takes Arts Barn Stage

From The City of Gaithersburg: In partnership with Kensington Arts Theatre, Arts on the Green presents the holiday classic A Christmas Carol. The show runs November 25 through December 10, 2017, with performances on Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., with an additional performance on Thursday, November 30 at 8 p.m. The Arts Barn is located at 311 Kent Square Road. Admission is $20, $12 for ages 14 and under. This show is recommended for ages 7 and older.

Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. He's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts lead him through his Past, Present and Future on Christmas Eve. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful "Happy Christmas" before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.

This year marks the 15th theater season at the Arts Barn. In May 2002, the Arts Barn opened to the public with its first stage performance, a one-woman comedy titled A Fresh of Breath Air written by and starring Dale Stein. Since then, more than 180 theater productions ranging from comedies to dramas to musicals have graced the Arts Barn stage.
