Farmers Market Week In Montgomery County: 2019 Dates, Locations
During National Farmers Market Week, dozens of vendors in Montgomery County will be selling fresh produce to the community.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — National Farmers Market Week is from Aug. 4 to 10, and Montgomery County officials are encouraging residents to check out their local market.
As the most populous county in the state, Montgomery is home to 23 farmers markets. During National Farmers Market Week — which celebrates the contribution farmers make to the nation's food supply — dozens of local vendors will be selling fresh produce to the community.
"We're really recognizing how farmers markets play a tremendous role in our quality of life and our sustainability goals and (in) supporting our agricultural community. Providing opportunities for entrepreneurs to help grow the economy, it really is such a great part of what makes Montgomery County a great place," said Montgomery County Council member Andrew Friedson.
