Former MoCo Middle School Teacher Sexually Abused Student: Police
Melissa Curtis is accused of sexually abusing a male student when he was a student at Montgomery Village Middle School, police said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A former teacher at a Montgomery County middle school is facing multiple charges after authorities said she sexually abused a student over a period of several months starting in 2015.
Melissa Marie Curtis, 31, of Upper Marlboro, was charged with sexual abuse of a minor and multiple counts of third and fourth-degree sexual offenses after Montgomery County police said she engaged in sex acts with a minor student, according to authorities.
Police said an investigation into Curtis began after the male victim, who is now an adult, accused her of sexually abusing him when he was a student at Montgomery Village Middle School. Curtis was also teaching there at the time of the alleged abuse, police said.

According to authorities, the abuse began in 2015 when Curtis was 22 years old. Police said the incidents continued for several months and all took place in Montgomery County.
In addition to Montgomery Village, Curtis also taught at Lakelands Park Middle School in Gaithersburg, police said.

Authorities issued an arrest warrant for Curtis, who turned herself in Tuesday, according to police.
