Gaithersburg Announces 78th Annual Labor Day Parade

The City of Gaithersburg and the Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Fire Department will present the 78th Annual Labor Day Parade on September 5.

Location: Olde Towne Gaithersburg
East Diamond and Russell Avenues
1-mile parade route from East Diamond to Odendhal Avenue

Event: The City of Gaithersburg and the Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Fire Department present the 78th Annual Labor Day Parade.

Parade features high school marching bands, dance groups, costumed characters, antique cars and fire engines, politicians, equestrian units, clowns, and more.

Jen Richer, Co-host and Executive Producer of The Tommy Show on 94.7 Fresh FM, joins the parade as Mistress of Ceremonies.

Parking: Free parking is available in the Olde Towne garage located at the corner of Olde Towne and South Summit Avenues. Accessible parking for those with disability placards or plates is available behind the Victor Litz store on the north side of Diamond Avenue and behind the Shell station on South Summit Avenue. Free shuttle bus service will also be provided from the Lakeforest Shopping Center transit station to Gaithersburg Elementary School beginning at noon.

Due to street closures for the parade, regular traffic patterns will be altered beginning at 10 a.m.
