Gaithersburg Indoor Aquatic Center Closed For Maintenance

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Grab your towels, but don't head to the indoor Aquatic Center. It's closed for maintenance and cleaning from Aug. 9 to Sept. 6, the city announced.

"The annual maintenance includes draining & refilling of the pool, gutter polishing, top to bottom cleaning, touch-up painting, diving board replacement, and HVAC & door inspections," the city said in the closure announcement.

Not to worry, Gaithersburg's Outdoor Water Park will be open everyday until Sept. 6, and Aquatic Center members can use the water park for free while the indoor pool is closed. Only residents and Aquatics Members can get into the park on weekends and holidays, and all Montgomery County residents may use the Water Park on weekdays.

The following indoor pools will be closed for maintenance the following days. (Check the county's website the day before you go in case plans have changed.)

• Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center: Aug. 7 to 22
• MLK Indoor Swim Center: Aug. 28 to Sept. 7
• Olney Swim Center: July 26 to Aug. 8
