Gaithersburg To Track Stop Sign Compliance, No Tickets Issued

Are drivers stopping in school zones? Gaithersburg police will gather data to help guide future traffic safety decisions.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Gaithersburg police will place data-collection devices at six intersections in school zones beginning Nov. 9 to study stop-sign compliance and traffic safety.

The devices will collect and evaluate data only. The city says no warnings or citations will be issued.

The study will run through Nov. 23, with additional data collection possible later. Police said the findings will help determine whether to consider further traffic safety measures.
