Gaithersburg Woman Drowns At Potomac Home's Pool
Police say a Gaithersburg woman visiting a house-cleaner in Potomac drowned while swimming alone in the pool.

POTOMAC, MD — A Gaithersburg woman visiting a house-cleaner in Potomac drowned while swimming alone in the home's pool Tuesday evening, according to Montgomery County Police. The drowning happened just before 6:30 p.m. at a house on Corral Drive.
The victim, Jesusa Sarmiento Onton, 22, of Gaithersburg, was visiting a woman who was cleaning the home and told the worker that she was going to swim by herself. The cleaner discovered Onton unresponsive in the pool and called 9-1-1.
Fire/Rescue personnel arrived at the home and began to attempt life-saving measures after pulling the victim from the pool. Onton was taken to a local hospital, and was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning.

No foul play is suspected, police said. The cause of death remains undetermined pending the results of an autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore.
