Human Remains Found in Gaithersburg Are Homicide Victim: Police
Hikers found human remains in a wooded Gaithersburg area; Montgomery County Police need the public's help to identify the victim.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Montgomery County Police said Monday that the death of a male whose remains were found recently in a shallow grave in the Gaithersburg area has been ruled a homicide. Authorities are asking the public to help identify the victim.
Hikers reported they found the human remains Nov. 12 in a wooded area in the 11500 block of Game Preserve Road. Detectives describe the victim as a Hispanic male, believed to be in his late teens to early twenties, and about 5’6″ tall.
The Medical Examiner’s Office believes it is possible that the victim's body has been in the woods since late summer of 2016. Detectives have released photos of the shirt and size 8 Aldo shoes that are similar to the ones the victim was wearing when his body was found.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore continues to investigate the cause and manner of the person’s death.
