Join The Gaithersburg Chorus, New Session Begins January 2
The Gaithersburg Chorus is seeking new members for the winter/spring session that begins January 2.

GAITHERSBURG, MD - From The City of Gaithersburg: The Gaithersburg Chorus is seeking new members to sing soprano, alto, tenor or bass/baritone in the non-audition ensemble, open to those 16 years and older. No previous experience is required. The winter/spring session begins Tuesday, January 2, 2018, with the last class on May 22.
Director Daniel Hopkins and accompanist Teresa McCoy provide weekly instruction on music theory, musicality and the mechanics of singing, including vocalization, voice control, proper breathing technique, and voice projection. The Chorus performs a variety of music from classical to pop to Broadway and everything in between.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. Students looking for volunteer opportunities can earn SSL hours. They must attend each weekly rehearsal.

There is a registration fee of $100 for City of Gaithersburg residents, $120 for nonresidents. Need-based financial aid is available through the Linda May Scholarship Fund. A family discount of 15 percent off two or more members of the same household is available.
Two annual concerts are presented, with the Chorus performing at various special events throughout the year. The Spring Concert will be held on Friday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church, 610 South Frederick Avenue. Admission is free; donations are gratefully appreciated.
