KinderCare Worker Charged With Sex Abuse Of 3-Year-Old

Detectives are asking parents of kids in the daycare to speak to their children about their contact with the man.

GAITHERSBURG, MD -- A Montgomery Village man has been arrested on a charge of child sex abuse while working at the KinderCare in Gaithersburg.

Raul Teroy Tuban, 56, of the 9400 block of Horizon Run Road in Montgomery Village, was charged with one count of sexual abuse of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual offense against a juvenile female victim.

Tuban was a cook at the daycare. Investigators also said, according to Montgomery County Police, that Tuban also worked as a driver, taking the kids to and from the learning center.

According to police, an investigation revealed that on Oct. 22, 2016, the three-year-old victim was taking a nap when she awoke to find Tuban touching her inappropriately, and that she reported the contact later that day to a family member.

Police say during an interview, Tuban "provided detectives with inconsistent statements regarding contact with the victim."

Tuban was arrested on July 14 and was released after posting a $25,000 bond.

Detectives are asking parents with children attending the KinderCare Learning Center to speak with their kids about their interactions with Tuban, and to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400 if they believe their child was victimized.
