Lakeforest Mall Worker Fatally Stabbed In Gaithersburg: Reports

GAITHERSBURG, MD — A man who worked at Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg died Monday from multiple stab wounds, several media outlets report.

Officers with the Montgomery County and Gaithersburg police departments arrived at the mall about 11 a.m. Police told reporters a man suffering from stab wounds was found by officers outside the food court, NBC Washington said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries, police told NBC. The station reported an attacker ran toward the Macy's store.

Authorities have not released a description of the suspect, or the victim's name.

While the NBC station said the victim was 32 years old, WTOP.com reported he was 23 years old. Police have not shared details.

Authorities told WTOP the attack was an isolated crime and not a random incident.
