Lord & Taylor To Close At Lakeforest Mall: Report
Lord & Taylor at Gaithersburg's Lakeforest Mall is closing for good in September, according to a new report.
GAITHERSBURG, MD — Lord and Taylor is saying goodbye to Gaithersburg's Lakeforest Mall.
The fashion retailer will be shuttering its doors for good in September, Lord & Taylor's parent company — Hudson's Bay Co. — announced Wednesday, according to Washington Business Journal.
The department store filed a Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice with the state of Maryland on Wednesday. WBJ reports that there are about 75 people working at Lord & Taylor in Gaithersburg. The employees will reportedly be offered severance packages and transfer opportunities where possible.

"These decisions are never easy, but they are the right ones for the company," HBC spokesperson Alex Cohen said, according to WBJ. "We are committed to offering support and assistance to our team affected by the closing."
The listed layoff date is Sept. 15.
