Man Arrested, Charged In Frederick Avenue Homicide: Police

GAITHERSBURG, MD —Montgomery County police have arrested and charged a man in connection with Sunday's homicide on Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, authorities said.

Anthony Blackford, 39, is facing a murder charge in connection with the death of Ange Gadji, police said in a news release. He was taken to Montgomery County jail, where he is being held without bond.

Shortly after 5:10 a.m. on Sunday, Gaithersburg and Montgomery County police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 19700 block of North Frederick Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Gadji suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Gadji was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore conducted an autopsy and determined the cause and manner of death to be a homicide.
