MoCo Police Officer Wins 3 Gold Medals In Olympic-Style Games
A Montgomery County police officer won gold while competing in an Olympic-style competition in China.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Montgomery County police officer won three gold medals at the 18th World Police and Fire Games in China.
Sherif Almiggabber recently competed in the World Police and Fire Games — a biennial, Olympic-style competition open to active and retired law enforcement and fire service personnel from all over the world. Almiggabber won the medals in freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and beginner submission grappling events, the Montgomery County Police Department wrote in a congratulatory Facebook post.
Boasting more than 15 years on the force, Almiggabber is currently assigned to the Community Engagement Division.

"He has competed in four previous World Police and Fire Games – New York City in 2011, Belfast, Ireland in 2013, Fairfax County, Virginia in 2015, and Los Angeles, California in 2017," the police department said. "Officer Almiggabber trains and travels to the games on his own time, in addition to covering all expenses involving travel, registration, and lodging."
