'The Reluctant Dragon' At Arts Barn Celebrates Similarities
"The Reluctant Dragon," a play for the whole family, will be performed Jan. 5-21 in Gaithersburg.

GAITHERSBURG, MD - From The City of Gaithersburg: In partnership with The Montgomery Playhouse, Arts on the Green presents The Reluctant Dragon, a play for the whole family adapted by Ed Monk. The show runs January 5 through 21, 2018, with performances on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. The Arts Barn is located at 311 Kent Square Road. Admission is $15, $12 for ages 14 and under. This show is recommended for ages 7 and older.
In the zany village of Veesaldorf, a young girl named Charity is more interested in fairy tales than her daily farm chore of painting the pigs. To her delight, her dreams of adventure come true one day when she finds a poetry-loving dragon in the woods. But her new friendship is quickly threatened when the frightened villagers call for Sir Wombat to slay the dragon. The Reluctant Dragon is a celebration of similarities, no matter what you appear to be.
