Traffic Alert: Lanes to Close Overnight on I-270

Workers will repair joints on the southbound I-270 bridge over MD 124 (Quince Orchard Road/Montgomery Village Avenue) in Gaithersburg Tuesday night, meaning lane closures after the evening commute.

All lanes should be open no later than 5 a.m. Wednesday, says the State Highway Administration.

SHA crews will begin closing lanes on I-270 at 10 p.m. By 11 p.m. crews will have three lanes closed beginning one mile south of Middlebrook Road up to the MD 124 overpass.

Drivers may use MD 355 (North Frederick Avenue) to MD 124 and back to southbound I-270 as an alternate route.
