Troop 291 Honors Five New Eagle Scouts

These scouts to be recognized at Eagle Court of Honor on March 4, 2018

Boy Scout Troop 291 in North Potomac, Maryland, will honor the advancement of five Scouts to the rank of Eagle Scout. These five young men; Nathan J. Alvarado, Benjamin Wagner Bernstein, Mikhail Krenov, Daniel Kyung Sik Kim, and Vincent Justin Sinfuego have achieved the Eagle Scout rank for their Boy Scout honors, meritorious badges, and planning, developing, and providing leadership in a service project that benefited their community. Only four percent of Scouts attain Eagle Scout, the highest rank of the Boy Scouts of America. Boy Scout Troop 291 is quite proud of these young men and their significant accomplishments.

  • Nathan J. Alvarado achieved his rank of Eagle on January 26, 2018. Nathanโ€™s Eagle Project was to build an outdoor classroom at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School. Nathan is a senior at Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
  • Benjamin Wagner Bernstein achieved his rank of Eagle on September 22, 2017. Benโ€™s Eagle Project was to refurbish the Quince Orchard High School spirit wear shirt shack where the school sells apparel during the football games. Ben is a senior at Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
  • Mikhail Khrenov achieved his rank of Eagle on January 26, 2018. Mishaโ€™s Eagle Project was to build a new campsite to expand capacity at Marsden Tract Group Campground for the C&O Canal Trust and National Park Service. Misha is a senior at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland.
  • Daniel Kyung Sik Kim achieved his rank of Eagle on October 27, 2017. Danielโ€™s Eagle Project was to construct paver driveways at St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic Church to use as overflow parking. Daniel is a senior at Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville, Maryland.
  • Vincent Justin Sinfuego achieved his rank of Eagle on October 27, 2017. Vincentโ€™s Eagle Project was to solicit donations to purchase and donate 100 supply-filled backpacks to The Tree House Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County, Maryland. Vincent is a senior at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland.

On Sunday March 4, 2018, Boy Scout Troop 291 will conduct a Court of Honor on their behalf. This event will be from 2:30 p.m. โ€“ 5:00 p.m., at the North Potomac Community Center 13850 Travilah Road, Rockville, Maryland 20850.

The recognition that an Eagle Scout receives at his Court of Honor is one of the great experiences of his life.
