Urbana: A Safe Community

Earlier this year, Farmers Insurance Group of Companies conducted a study ranking metropolitan areas by how secure they are considered to be. Using measurements of crime, weather, housing depreciation, air quality, life expectancy, job loss, and many other factors, Farmers Insurance was able to compile a list of the best.

The Bethesda-Gaithersburg-Frederick metro area, where Villages of Urbana is located, was ranked number one for large metro areas, and was the only Maryland location on the list. According to Farmers Insurance, this is the seventh year in a row that this region has earned a top 20 rating for a large metro area. As you can imagine, this is wonderful news for future and current residents at Villages of Urbana!

Best of all, our community is dedicated to keeping this area as one of the safest and most secure in the region. In a recent homeowners association meeting, Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins assured Urbana residents that our town is on the right track to maintaining a high standard for safety, and is even making impressive improvements. The Sheriff continues to say how Urbana numbers are favorable and that the area is “seeing overall decreases in part one and part two offenses. Particularly, the theft and burglaries are down, and a large decrease in destruction of property and disorderly conduct offenses.”
