Woman Dead After Car Hits Her In Grocery Store Parking Lot

BURTONSVILLE, MD — A woman died Thursday after she was hit by a car in the parking lot of a Montgomery County grocery store.

According to police, officers received a call around 11:30 a.m. about a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision at Giant Food, located in the 15000 block of Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene, police said.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she later died. Police did not release her name pending notification of family.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman remained at the scene, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
