1 Killed In Shooting Near Germantown Apartment Building: Police

Witnesses told police they saw several people drive away from the parking lot following the Friday night shooting.

GERMANTOWN, MD — A man is dead following a Friday night shooting near a Germantown apartment complex, according to authorities.

Montgomery County police said officers were called to the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Road shortly after 8 p.m. for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found several shell casings in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex and also found an adult man suffering from gunshot wounds behind one of the apartment buildings, police said.

The 57-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police do not have a suspect in custody, authorities said.
