A Germantown resident will be the oldest Marylander to naturalize since 2003.
A Germantown woman will have more than just her 100th birthday to celebrate on Wednesday. Donatila Leticia Muonz Orantes will also become a naturalized citizen of the United States.
Orantes, from Nicaragua, will receive her citizenship at a ceremony Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Baltimore District Office, according to a press release. Leon Rodriguez, director of the USCIS, will administer the Oath of Allegiance.
Also in attendance will be about 30 other naturalization candidates and four generations of Orantes family.
