2 Men Charged With Robbing, Assaulting Man Wearing MAGA Hat: PD
Police have arrested two men they say assaulted and robbed a man wearing a MAGA hat in Germantown.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Authorities have arrested two men they say assaulted and robbed a man wearing a red Make America Great Again hat in Germantown over the weekend.
Jovan Crawford, 27, of Germantown, was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted theft of more than $100 and less than $1,500, second-degree assault, and malicious destruction of property worth less than $1,000, court records show. The second suspect — 25-year-old Scott Duncan Roberson of Washington, D.C. — was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted theft of more than $100 and less than $1,500, and second-degree assault.
The incident happened on April 13 in the area of the 18000 block of Cottage Garden Dr. According to Montgomery County Police, Crawford and Roberson approached the victim, who was wearing a MAGA hat, and asked why he had it on. Before walking away, the victim told the suspects that he was entitled to his own views.

Authorities say the pair then repeatedly struck the victim, demanding that he take off the hat. When the man fell to the ground, Crawford and Roberson stole and destroyed his belongings.
Police responding to the incident spotted the two suspects hiding among a group of children playing basketball.
