28-Year-Old Found Dead In Germantown Investigated As Homicide: PD

Police say they are investigating the death of a 28-year-old man in Germantown as a homicide.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Montgomery County police are investigating the death of a 28-year-old man who was found dead on a Germantown sidewalk last week as a homicide.

Authorities identified the victim as Dwayne Anthony Stanley, Jr., of Washington, D.C.

Police said a motorist on Great Seneca Highway found the unresponsive man lying on the sidewalk between Grotto Lane and Grey Eagle Court at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The driver called 9-1-1 and waited for first responders to arrive.

Police and fire officials responding the 9-1-1 call found the male, who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound, officials said. Despite attempting life-saving measures, emergency personnel could not revive him. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

The victim's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. Police said the medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.
