Teen Facing First-Degree Murder Charges For 2025 Shooting

GERMANTOWN, MD — A 17-year-old is being charged as an adult for a November shooting that took place off Waters Landing Drive, police announced Wednesday.

In addition to firearm offenses, Jaden Proctor, of Germantown, is facing the following charges:

The Montgomery County Police Department said the shooting at the center of the case took place Nov. 27, around 4:45 a.m., at the 20500 block of Staffordshire Drive.

At the scene, officers found that four homes were impacted as bullets were traced to multiple bedrooms, including one where a child was sleeping in during the shooting.

Police said no injuries were reported at the scene.

Nearly a month later, Proctor was also arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants. He was charged at that time with firearms offenses.

Proctor remains in custody at the county's Central Processing Unit in Rockville.
