GERMANTOWN, MD —Operations at the Crumbl Cookies bakery located at The Shops in Seneca Meadows in Germantown abruptly came to a halt on Friday.

An employee told Patch that management informed staffers that sales had been turned off at the store after employees had noticed a decline in orders.

No reason was given for the sudden change in operations at the bakery, which had served the community since September 2022 from 20650 Seneca Meadows Parkway.

"We are permanently closed," reads a sign taped to the store. "We apologize for any inconvenience and would encourage you to head to our Kentlands location!"

The Germantown location was one of three Crumbl Cookies in the county. The Moco Show reported the base was originally opened by franchisees Rob Davis and Mark Sumsion.

Other sites can still be found at 12266 Rockville Pike and 277 Kentlands Blvd.

Both locations are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Crumbl Cookies first arrived in the county in 2020 with its Rockville location. The chain store is popularly known for its selection of freshly baked specialty cookies that come packaged in bright pink boxes.
