Authorities had arrived at the scene shortly after 10:30 a.m. for reports of a man experiencing a crisis. He was not identified by officials.

Police said the man was informed he was not in trouble, but that first responders needed to transport him to a hospital for evaluation.

The man proceeded to resist officers as they attempted to put him on a stretcher, later momentarily breaking free as he tried to reach a nearby roadway.

Video from the scene picks up where at least five officers are seen trying to block the man's escape.

Despite a Taser being deployed, efforts to restrain the individual proved difficult, according to the department. The man was ultimately hospitalized after officers were able to put him in handcuffs and secure him to a stretcher.

The department has not released any additional details on the case.
